It has been a busy summer...much about lazing around outside in the sun, playing and going for walks. Ugh...and Mom bought a new camera, so you all know what that means? I am supposed to sit, laydown, look here Parker...while she uses me as her subject and thinks I am a supermodel.

Where's the ball Parker? Really? Can she not see it, why do I need to get it for her.

Does this face look vicious?????!!!! Well, my new post-lady thinks so. I got a letter in the mail something about how dogs bite letter carriers? Do they not have cookies in that bag they drag around? I was minding my own business one rainy day and just staring out the window as I usually do when suddenly a human with a big cap and hat (mom says she was dressed like a yellow duck), anyways, she brought letters to our box and then walked right in front of my window! So....I barked and barked and barked and growled! That is what we do when someone is in our territory. The next day there was that letter in our mail box. Mom read it to me whilst she was bursting with laughter : ) I am soooo not vicious! I love everyone xo

PS from Mom: ever since, we have had a postal strike in Canada....go figure.

OK, a few important things have happened: I HAVE HAD A BIRTHDAY! Yes, I am 6yrs old now. I was so spoiled for my bday, well I am a pretty spoiled creature everyday, but don't want Mom to hear me say that because we all know we can use more and more spoiling. Anyways, take a look at my gifts:

OK that was only one gift, but the one that was soooo yummy, thanks to my friend Vanessa, that I visited at the store on my bday! It was so much fun.

Also we have an intruder, yes bugs bunny! I need to keep watch so he doesn't get any of my food or think he can play with any of my toys. Who does he think he is anyways, eating MY grass!

The other day Mom came home with a big bag of food, it was that time again for her to go hunting for me. When she walked in the door, I smelt something yummy...so I had to take a look:
My friend Vanessa at the store is soooo nice to me, she always gives me something, cookies or toys, but this time, it was in Mom's purse! Yummmm! But once again, we had to take pics before I could get even a bite.

I cannot believe I have not been able to post anything on my blog since January!!!! Mom has been working and is always on her laptop or her bluberry. I need one of those too, I am hoping maybe for Easter the Bunny will hide one for me so I can update all my friends on what i've been up to.

Alright, let's see if I can recap...

I went to the sports club on vacation for 1 week. That's me on the way there.
Some things have not changed around here, I cuddle whenever I get a chance.

I am still loving the sunshine.
Mom still thinks i'm a doggy-model. I keep telling her NOPE, I am not, stop with the pictures.
So...all this to say....guys, i'm here! Maybe I will start getting up in the middle of the night to blog instead, while she is sleeping!

Happy New Year to all my friends! December was nuts and this waiting for Santa had me really really nervous and excited every day. Well Santa did come to my house and wow I got lots of stuff. Ok hello everyone!!! I am here - finally Mom has given me a few minutes on her LABtop so I could write to my friends. All my pup-friends must be wondering where I am and what I've been doing. Well I am fine! Let's see real quick, we have had family visiting from Switzerland...wow it was great, extra kisses, hugs, and lots of extra treats! Before they got here, I was forced to do "my part" of the cleaning.

Not sure what you are all doing for the weekend, but I think that some lazing around is in order. Things have been busy around here and torrential rain everyday around dinner time. Crazy, because mom says we don't live in Florida, why are we getting these rains. Anyways, I don't mind them, I just like to lie around and relax!!! There is enough time for running, chasing squirrels and barking at passer-bys...

5 years that I came to my new home. I was just 9 weeks old and I was taken away in a car and we drove 3 hrs. I slept the whole way - I was a happy fellow to be brought into a great family. I have been taken care of and wouldn't change any of it for the world.

I went to the sports club - ok I call it "roughing it" because there are no couches or beds to lay on and I got wet, sand in my feet, smelly, simply without the comforts of home. Enough of the embarrassing baby pics Mom, let's bring things back to today. This is me relaxing after a long Birthday yesterday:So let me recap my day - I had breakfast as usual and I know Mom has been hiding something upstairs in her office cause I peeked in the bag when she brought it home last week. When she gave it to me I was like HUH???!!!???!!!! What is that....take a look yourselves - the blue one is the present. Is she kidding me?

OK so the story is the orange one on the left her name is "baby" and it was my EVER FIRST toy that Heidi bought me, my human cousin. I love Baby, she is special to me so I think when Mom saw the blue one she was thinking it would be a good match. Uhuh???? Not taking a liking yet.

Anyways, had a great day as last night out on my walk - the kids on my street sang Happy Birthday and I was rolling around in the grass, it was so much fun. Thanks to all the wishes everyone left me.

Mom here: Today is Parker's 5th Birthday. 5 Yrs ago he was born along with 9 other brothers and sisters. Here is a photo of them - can you guess my little guy? - maybe this is why he is ALWAYS hungry? Or he just loves the attention of everyone feeling bad for the little guy!He has brought 5 yrs of true friendship and happiness. We have had our ups and downs with his health, but we can say today is truly a special day for him + well me of course, as he is truly my best friend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY my boy!!!!

OK, so Mom has been busy again - what is with this anyways! All this to say that tomorrow is my 5th Birthday and I really wanted to get some help on what I think Mom should buy me. I went for my yearly check-up at the vet last week and she even said - 5 is a big # and that I should get a nice present. So here goes, this is what I am thinking (in no particular order):

1. A trip to see all my blogger friends, so almost like a world tour
2. Or a trip to see a few of my friends
3. More cookies + treats on a daily basis
There are a lot more I can think of - but would really like your insight, because Mom listens to what you guys say : )

Mom here: on another note, Parker has a clean bill of health. When he had his tummy problems last fall and went in for emergency surgery, they had found an increased amount of copper in his liver, which can mean a few things: hepatoxicosis (copper storage disease), liver disease and a few others. Well we sighed a deep breathe when we heard all was good! They think it was just a one time thing due to his sickness at the time.

Well it's been rough! Mom has been so busy lately that we haven't had a chance to visit everyone and update our blog - SO tonight, while she is watching the Hockey Playoffs she promised me we would re-decorate my blog. OK so it's not called re-decorating, it's something like re-designing. Well, let me tell you all, it has been NO easy task. Everything I wanted to use as our background, she didn't want. So we have agreed on this layout. The outdoors for me and the daisy for Mom. Hope you like it, summer is around the corner here in Montreal. It is a sad day for us today. Our furry friend Mousse from Chicago left us and is now in puppy heaven. It was a short journey for this beautiful pup. His Mommy Ann and my mom have been friends since High School and even though I have never met Mousse, he sounds a lot like me. Our mom's were always saying how we are like humans, not average dogs (well let's just say none of us are average dogs - but you know how mom's + dad's are...). Mousse was only 2 yrs old and was diagnosed with Lymphoma just 2 weeks ago, but very advanced. Please send your kind words of support to us and we will send them to Ann. She lost her best friend today and my Mom is really sad - everyone should hug their furry friends today and always!!!Rest in peace Mousse big buddy we will miss you!!!! xoxoxo

Ok so that is not exactly what my vet told me the last visit. No worries, all is good with me, just routine stuff. Anyways, I told her that i'm cold outside, and she made me step on this BIG metal thing and they were trying to make me (the happy lab) stand still with a cookie. Anyways, I finally did and guess what - i'm underweight!!!! some of you might remember I was a little chubby at the time of my knee surgery. Well the vet was real happy on how I got my weight down (ok it was Mom's doing). Anyways, that is why i'm cold outside in these frigid Canadian temperatures. I need to be running outdoors, none of these walks - running is so much better! Oh AND I get more food and more cookies (mom doesn't know that I slipped the vet a $20 to rig the scale).

Note from Mom: I was surprised that she said he needs to gain weight, I never thought those words would come out of her mouth. Thankfully he is healthy and is doing good on his feet (running and all).

Last year I was imprisoned at this time, so there was no tree. Well this year...woohoo. We have it up and most importantly the Stockings on the fireplace. This is where all the cool gifts appear by some guy named Santa. I haven't seen him, but I do check out my stocking every morning AFTER breakfast, but so far, the guy is a no show.

Ok my pup friends in blog world. Get your humans to buy leather goods. It tastes....soooo yummy. I am not really planning on chewing up the glove or the shoe, it just looks like it in the picture.
From Mom: luckily, I have these instincts or we can call it good timing to know when it is that moment of checking up on him, he was definitely planning on chewing up the glove.
Parker: No, I was just making sure they would be warm enough for the winter that is fast approaching us.

What a difference 1 year makes

Yesterday (27th) was 1 year that Parker had his cranial cruciate ligament repair by TPLO. We call him the bionic dog. He is doing extremely well although we've had some ups and downs thru out the year, but I am more than extremely happy that we chose that surgery. Like our buddy Moose + Mom Dana, I am still a little over protective about letting him loose. I take him for long walks/runs and he is happy with that, but I guess I do miss seeing him run free. However those critters in our yards are always teasing him and well with the probability rates of him blowing the other knee, well let's just say I wouldn't want to put him thru another surgery, let alone all the prison time. November also marks the 1 year anniversary that we started this blog + let's just say we are so happy to have met so many nice pups + their people.

So what better way then to mark this 1 year anniversary of Parker's new knee...we'll let the pictures do the talking!

But last minute on Saturday, Mom decided we were going out for Hallo-ween, so she dressed me up as ......Just joking - that's our friend Diva - ok I have not met her but Mom did on Saturday - THATS what she was doing when I was home alone all afternoon!
Meet Caramel...my my human Uncles pup. She sure is cute, but still after all these years has not taken a liking to me. She's warming up to me now : ) She was a dog witch, not to be confused with a sandwich....yum.

Well it has been busy around here lately. I did mention last time that we didn't have our camera when we were in the woods, well here we are again and finally Mom took some photos. Enjoy. Wow I just got back from a great walk - thru the woods. OK so maybe not real deep kinda woods, but small woods at the park near my house. We do not usually walk that way but wow it was sooo nice all the leaves changing colors. Problem is...Mom doesn't have her camera it was left at her brother's last weekend. Right when I finally wanted to take some pictures of me with those colorful leaves. Oh boy Mom! We will get a picture tomorrow hopefully, if the weather is still nice. Hope all my friends have a great weekend...NFL Sunday tomorrow....

Well - things are back to normal around here. We had our trip to the Vet on Tues and the stitches were removed. Wow - I was soooo excited to be there, Mom didn't understand how I could still want to be there with all the trips i've had there in the last 10 months. Well I still can win over anyone's heart and that's what I do best, no matter where I am. So we came home and I was FREE in the house...everything was new to me, so I had to check everything out. Running up and down the stairs, smelling everywhere and then well I was tired from my exciting day, Mom had work to do and well my favorite spot to crash is ... her office.

Hi everyone! It's been a rough week. I want to thank everyone for sending along their wishes to me. I am starting to feel better and have just had to rest and eat small meals. I am takin' it easy and again kinda in prison, as i'm not allowed to walk stairs until next week. I am trying to catch up on everyone's stories and adventures and hope all my doggy bloggers are well. We hope that we will post better stories for you all to read.

Parker's hospital stay

Well Parker sends a BIG hello and a huge amount of thanks to all his blogger doggy buddies + humans who sent their wishes for his recover. These photos were taken last night on our visit. He was wanting to come home, he was heading for the door. All in all he was doing pretty good, still on the pain killers, etc. It has been emotionally draining and just exhausting the past few days. However, good news! He is coming home this evening. We are keeping this post short, but I wanted to let everyone know that he is recovering well. We will post more in the next few days when he's back home where he belongs. Thanks again!!! And a special thanks to Moose + Dana!!!

This is mom writing. Not so good news today...Parker was sick yesterday all day and still not back to normal today. Long story short, brought him to the Vet Hospital + the xrays showed dilated intestines. Which can mean be a few scenarios - he ingested something that's obstructing or about a billion other things that right now I can't even write about. He is in surgery now approx. 10pm est. Please say a prayer for my best friend!

I miss him incredibly!

I am not quite sure but what is this weekend? It's a LAB or day weekend? I think Mom would take the Lab any Day. Well I think we need to celebrate all my lab pups, cause there is a day named after us.....woohoo! Let's see we can eat cookies in front of the TV or we can take some fun walks or play OR how about we catch some zzzzz's on the lawn chair. We made the 3 hour drive from Stoneham, Qc (outside of Quebec City) to my new home! I was really good in the car, slept most of the way. It felt pretty good leaving my brothers & sisters even though I know I would miss them. I was thrilled to see what was awaiting me at my new home. Well I am a happy guy here - love everyone!!! I do wish to go back home one day and see my sis, Toscane, she's a black lab - not chocolatey like me. We were always together and I wonder how great it would be to see her again!

So I had to visit the surgeon again this past Wednesday! My knee wasn't getting better mom said. I thought I was doing ok - but she thought otherwise, so we went in the caaaarrrrr and vroom to the hospital! But man as soon as I got in there, I wanted OUT! But its sooo confusing, there are 2 doors...yes 2 in the examining room. I was looking at it in hopes that it would open and then i'd be out of there in a flash. Anyways, doc says my knee is really swollen not sure why, they xrayed me and everything looks ok. I have to take some pills which yum, I think are candy and then we will see what happens after. For now I am resting.... Oh yea NOT supposed to be up there!!! Ever wonder why every puppies or at least most puppies eyes look devilish on pictures..I will tell you why - we are sooo handsome and I don't want Mom making $$$$ on my photos, so I figure if I do the devilish eyes she can't!

Well it's lookin' like it's overflowing. My latest toy "Good Dog" I think is the toy that makes this look like I am spoiled.
I love to take inventory of them, because one never knows who might have snuck into that basket at night...so here I am. I am feeling so much better and am back one my walks and feelin' good. Sooooo, if any of my buddies want to come play with me - i'm ready!!

Well, Mom has called it a set-back, the surgeon said to keep me rested for the next few days and then start my walks up slowly again. Oh boy, the weather is great and i'm outside but my ball is over there and i'm on this thing called "hold him tight" a.k.a. the leash. One good thing is Mom went out to the mall last night and she came home with this
She said that as soon as she saw it she thought of me...I LOVE PRESENTS. Anyways, wanted to says thanks to everyone who sent me get better wishes, I do feel better and will be in tip top shape again soon. I did have Mom worried, but i'm making it up to her : )

Back in prison

I am not sure why - but i'm back in prison again!! My leg hurts something crazy since Friday night. Mom called the hospital where I had surgery (TPLO) and was told to put me back in prison and keep me calm for a few days and we will get a call back from Dr. Dupuis (the awesome surgeon who made me better). I see how worried mom is, her eyes often fill up with tears, she keeps saying that I don't deserve to be held prisoner...I AGREE!!!! Well tomorrow (tues) we will hopefully know more. Please keep me in your thoughts and know that I want to be FREE again. If any of you guys have an escape plan, please let me know - thing is I am not allowed to walk far or run of course, so i'll need your help.

Hi everyone! It has been a loooong 2 and a half weeks without Mom. We haven't been able to update my blog because well, Dad was doing his best with me, but Mom is the one that helps out with the spelling on here...Anyway, there is a lot to tell, but for now I just want to tell everyone that she's home and we will be writing alot. In the meantime I MISSED YOU ALL soooo much my friends! We will be reading everyone's blogs and catching up! Well I am down today. Mom got Dad to sneak the luggage upstairs while I wasn't looking so she can pack her stuff. Well I sensed it, and I know, they are talking about it all the time. I am kinda mopping around today. We will be taking a long walk though in just a little while, so THAT I am happy about. I still plan on making a run for her luggage before she zips it up, but I doubt that i'll fit, she has a lot of things in there, i'm sure!

My Dad has been in training all this week. Yup I said he's in training - to take care of me while Mom is visiting family. I am sad, it's only 2 days away. I know it's going to be tough but I also know that Jack has his Tall Guy and looks like he is treated REALLY well, and i'm sure my guy will do fine, I just like to play along with Mom cause really - shhhhh I am mommy's boy. She is telling him things like how many kisses to give me a day and how to do this and that, it's quite funny, cause I am a big boy BUT no matter what I WILL MISS MOM.
