OK I was practically howling on the way to the vet this time. I knew that I was having my 8-week check-up and xrays to see if bone healing has taken place which would equal to - MORE FREEDOM. More, you say? I haven't had ANY. All I hear all the time is how sucha good boy I am and have made everyone real proud that I haven't complained much at all. Well - GREAT news! Bone healing is almost at 100% and we are beginning my rehab program - WALKS...yay! They took the xrays (see here - even though they were easier to read at the hospital), and when he brought me back to the examining room I ran to mom and was like - OK let's go, let's get outta here...NOW! But I needed to lay there, while they talked. So, we've got a rehab program and are on our way to recovery! I go back for a final check-up March 24th. Know what's the best part besides the WALKS? I get to see the upstairs of the house again, and sleep in the bedroom. I hear though, that i'm not sleeping on the bed. It's ok though, we are going to transport my bed upstairs to be alongside the bed - I will TAKE IT!!!!

1 day to go...and playing a game
First of all woohoo, 1 day to go. I passed the 8-week mark last Thursday, and am going tomorrow for my 8-week follow-up, please keep all your paws crossed for me tomorrow afternoon. Guess what else that means, I get to go in the car...I can't wait. This prison is getting old, eventhough mom says I have been a great doggy patient.
About the game playing, NO I have not been playing fetch or anything that involves running. Instead my buddy Moose got me to play a little online tagging game. To play you open a file folder, click on the fifth folder and then on the fifth photo. Post the photo and describe it. Then tag 5 other bloggers. Here is mine....

Meet Garcon aka Stitch - even though I have never met him myself, this is my mom's friend's dog - he is the travelling dog along with his sister Maxine. This photo was taken on a vacation to arizona where they were living at the time, since then he has moved to Northern California and now is moving back down to Southern California. I would definitely love to meet him and play with him. He keeps mom company when she goes to visit her friends and she's missing me.

Looking back in time....
This was me at 9 weeks old. We've been looking back at all my old photos and wow I sure was and still AM sooo handsome...don't you think? Well today is 8 weeks post-op - things seem like they are going really well, today it was like Parker had a spring in his step, seemed a little more bouncy then lately. I guess that is a good thing. We are just waiting until next Tues. when I hope to be able to give a good update on his progress. I have to say, he has been really the best dog ever, considering he hasn't seen the rest of the house in over 9 weeks already, where does the time go??? He does sit at the bottom of the stairs in the den and looks up probably thinking, ok enough already, let me up those stairs...NOW. We hope next Tues will be the start of phase 2 of his rehab.

Parker's Upcoming Vacation....
Had to look for a place for Parker to "vacation" while we are on our up-coming vacation to the Caribbean, end of Feb. It has always been difficult to board him when going away - but obviously this time is extremely difficult considering he will be 12 weeks post-op when we leave. Went to take a look at the following facilities: http://www.guidescanins.com/en/gard/gard.html as they came recommended and I was happily surprised. Beautifully situated in the "woods" and a great receptionist when you arrive - that's Kiva sitting there, I think Parker will be well taken care of. Now how will I do? That's another question!

Have I got your attention????
Well I am happy that mom's office has moved to the sofa since my TPLO surgery, however, at the same time, she's not giving up her laptop. I too want to be able to check emails and check up on all my friends. Moose's mom has been a little too busy for my taste, I need to know what's going on with my southernmost Moose. I am counting down the days...15 to go until my xrays. Just to let everyone know, i'm feeling great!!!

20 days to go....!!!
Today I am officially starting the countdown...not to the Superbowl, but to my follow-up xrays 8 weeks post op on Jan. 27th, where I will hopefully get the green light for some freedom in the house - which seems I cannot remember what the rest of my house looks like. Also, then I can hopefully start taking short walks. I am still in prison, things are going well, I feel great and my hair is growing back. Today it snowed all day and I just LOVE to go outside and dig, hoping to rescue something under the snow, however, I had to go back inside, so of course in the little diggin' time I had, I found nothing.
